Lease Purchase Agreement

A lease that gives the driver the option to buy the equipment outright once the contract term is complete.

A lease purchase agreement works like a regular lease but with a built-in path to ownership: when the contract ends, the lessee can buy the equipment. It’s a common way for a driver to work toward owning a truck without a large upfront purchase.

The appeal is becoming an owner-operator over time, with payments building toward the truck. The trade-off is that terms vary widely, so the real cost and conditions are worth reading closely before signing.
